Forrest Radarian
I'm Forrest Radarian, and I live and work at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. As an avid bikepacker and backpacker, I’ve completed many multi-day and extended trips across the deserts and mountains of the west. I've built a strong love for the state of Arizona - a topophilia enriched by backcountry adventuring around this state. I’ve also scouted and published several bikepacking routes including:
- South Rim - Capes of the Canyon
- North Rim - Capes of the Canyon
I also work for, serve, and volunteer with several organizations including:
- Grand Canyon High School where I work as the high school science teacher offering AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology to students at the only pre-K - 12 public school located in a National Park
- Arizona Trail Association where I volunteer as the Grand Canyon Regional Steward (Passages 37 - 38) and serve as a Segment Steward for 37a: Grandview, 38a: South Kaibab, and 37b: North Kaibab
- Bikepacking Roots where I serve as a Route, Community, and Advocacy Steward
- Baaj Nwwavjo I’tah Kukveni - Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon where I serve as the Outdoor Rec/OHV Representative
I've made it a personal goal to journal more of my experiences/memories not only for myself but for my family, friends, and anyone else interested in learning about a given route. This is especially true as time moves forward and the sharp lines of experiences begin to blur; writing then becomes my attempt to maintain those details.
